There is an escape artist in town but it's not the one you usually think of. It is... Abigail, the new Jersey cow.
Late last night she was seen escaping from her new home. In vain the smith family tried to keep her contained but in the end she spent the night roaming the pasture.
This morning the family made a trip to the ranch to get cattle panels to fortify her abode. They worked hard all morning in frigidly cold weather of approximately 12 degrees to complete her humble dwelling. Bob and the cowgirl were reported to have been freezing but the mother of the bunch commented that she "wasn't that cold." In time her home was fortified, but unfortunately she managed to escape yet again, by opening the gate. The dad was able to fix the problem, for now.
As the family worked on her home she was seen all over the pasture checking out her new neighborhood. The cow really seems to enjoy playing/fighting with her neighbor, Sunny the buck. We are informed that she is a very friendly cow and that she does not protest to be petted. "Dad was really the first person who petted her" said the mother as she made the hand motions of petting a cow. Bob objected and said that if it weren't for him putting his hand on her, that never would have happened. To which the mother replied "life would not exist if it weren't for Bob".
The mother told us that she is "brilliant" while the Wildcat exclaimed "that cow is a genius!" Almost all agreed. As you can see, this family is very grateful that the cow is here and safe, and that her home is fixed. We have yet to see if she will be able to escape once more.

I have to say...she is a cutie...but it looks SOOOOOOOO cold! Stay warm! :) Love you guys!!
ReplyDeleteOh, dear! I'm glad you got her back! : )At least she didn't run too far!
ReplyDeleterefer back to my comment a couple posts ago about her checking the perimeter for weak spots. All grazing animals seem to be the same that way. After experiencing many animal breakouts, we've found that an abundant supply of laughter and fence repair materials really help. At least she didn't find a weak spot that allowed her to roam the neighborhood.
ReplyDeleteOoooh! She is ADORABLE! I am so glad you will only be milking her and not eating her as we did our cow. Sniffle. (I never saw him so it was okay.) She is really pretty. If she wanders down our way I may just put her in my yard and call her "mine"! Wouldn't that be funny... you would drive by to take the kids to Seminary and your cow would be grazing under our trampoline or resting in one of our swings or perhaps playing with the chickens.
